The Household Cavalry is the British Army’s two most senior regiments: The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st (Royal) Dragoons).
These regiments form a war-fighting Armoured Cavalry Regiment at Bulford on Salisbury Plain, and a ceremonial Mounted Regiment at Knightsbridge Barracks in London.
The Household Cavalry is part of the Household Division with the five regiments of Foot Guards (Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh) and is The Queen’s official bodyguard.
