This autumn, from the 6th -18th September, the Household Cavalry Regiment will be taking place in an epic challenge; to cycle to all 13 of the Rugby World Venues in 13 days which totals around 1300 miles.
HCR are fast becoming one of the Army’s leads for daring, exciting and challenging pursuits and will be selecting a team to complete this challenge at the end of March; allowing sufficient time to train and prepare for the event.
The cycle will be taking place to raise money for the Household Cavalry Foundation as well as the RFU Injured Players Foundation. It is also a great opportunity for the soldiers to hone their military skills, such as navigation and leadership.
The ride will begin in Windsor, and pass through the Brighton Stadium on its first day. The soldiers will go as far north as St James Park in Newcastle before heading back down south and ending the ride in Twickenham. Along the way they will be undertaking a number of different activities and a recruiting team will also be present to hand out information to the general public.
